There was a steady increase in the number of infected patients
According to Kazuhiro Takeda, chairman of the Japan Infectious Disease Association, the KP.3 variant is spreading rapidly in the country. Takeda further said that the variant is spreading rapidly among those vaccinated this time as well as those who were infected in the previous wave. The next week will be crucial as officials monitor the spread and impact of the variant.' It is worth mentioning that the number of infected patients with Covid-19 is continuously increasing in Japan. However, many cases are relieved as they are not severe. Symptoms of this new KP.3 variants include fever, sore throat, loss of smell and taste, headache, and fatigue.
The first case was reported in Japan in early 2020
According to the Ministry of Health, infections across Japan increased by 1.39 times, or 39 percent, from July 1 to 7. It should also be noted here that since the first case of Kovid-19 was reported in Japan in early 2020, the East Asian country has recorded a total of 34 million infections and nearly 75,000 related deaths.
