Following the backlash, Delhi's Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, ordered an investigation into the matter. Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra confirmed that officials have spoken with the restaurant owner, Neeraj Agarwal, who has since clarified the situation.

According to the owner, there is no dress code restricting Indian attire.
