The notice states that this chemical can also prove fatal and patients may face life-threatening anaphylactic reactions. In fact, sulfites are used during purification to remove blackness and dirt from raisins, but according to US government regulations, it is mandatory to clearly mention it on the packet of golden raisins.

A large quantity of Nirvana Foods that has been withdrawn from the market was sold at Maharaja Supermarket in New York and Villager Farmers Market stores in New Jersey and New York.
