Use of animal fat in 'Prasadi' of Tirupati temple, CM Naidu himself made serious allegations

He on Wednesday accused the previous YSR Congress government of using inferior ingredients and animal fat in making prasad laddus of the famous Tirupati temple during its tenure.

Naidu alleged

Accusing the YSRCP at the NDA People's Representatives meeting, Naidu said, 'The Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala is our holiest temple. I was surprised to know that animal fat was used instead of ghee in Tirupati Prasadam during Jagan Sarkar's time. Shame on Jagan and the YSRCP government for not honoring him.'

YSRCP gave a strong response

The YSRCP strongly responded to the allegations leveled by Naidu and said, 'Chandrababu Naidu has committed a great sin by hurting the sanctity of the divine temple Tirumala and the faith of crores of Hindus. Naidu's comment about Tirumala Prasadam is really bad. No man speaks such words or makes such an accusation. This proves one thing that he can cross any limit for political gain.'

Questions raised on prasadam under the YSRCP rule

During the YSRCP rule, the iconic Ladoo Prasadam faced scrutiny and controversy and the TDP often criticized the alleged serious compromise in its quality. TTD recently conducted an internal evaluation in consultation with dairy experts and found that the quality of ghee plays an important role in determining the taste of 'Srivari Ladoo'.
