49 Drugs that Fail Quality Tests:
Calcium 500mg and Vitamin D3 tablets manufactured by Life Max Cancer Laboratories have failed the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) test. CDSCO has published its report for September. In this report, 49 drugs that do not meet the standards have been identified. CDSCO tested a total of 3000 drugs this month, out of which 49 drugs failed the quality test.
CDSCO has been instructed to withdraw fake and substandard drugs
Apart from this, CDSCO has also identified four drugs that are being manufactured by fake companies. Keeping in mind the public interest, CDSCO has instructed to withdraw fake and substandard drugs. Speaking, CDSCO Chief Rajiv Singh Raghuvanshi said that only 1 percent of the drugs are failing in the test. So, CDSCO's efforts to stop fake and bad drugs are proving effective.
Drugs of this company failed the test
Among the drugs identified by CDSCO, metronidazole tablets of Hindustan Antibiotics, domperidone tablets of Rainbow Life Sciences and oxytocin injection of Pushkar Pharma have also failed in the test.
Other drugs include metformin, calcium 500mg of Swiss Biotech Parenterals, and vitamin D3 250 IU tablets of Life Max Cancer Laboratories. Along with this, Pan 40 tablets of Alkem Labs have also been found to be fake. Paracetamol tablets of Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Limited have also been found to be of poor quality.
Apart from this, other medicines also include gauze rolls, non-sterile roller bandages, and diclofenac sodium tablets. This action taken by CDSCO is a precautionary measure taken every month.
